A table top in the form of a droplet of mercury, leaving the viewer unclear as to its precise geometric shape and thickness. Similarly, the table’s stability is challenged in all sorts of ways: not only is the heavy table top placed high up, but the slender legs, placed at the very edge, seem only just able to bear its weight.
